Col 1:16 Says "For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him."
Hebrews 11:3 Says " By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible."
So as Christians we must believe that only God is the creator and that there was nothing until God spoke His word.
So I believe our interpretation of Genesis 1:1-2 where we read "In the Beginning God created the heavens and the earth" that this is a general introductory statement meaning God from the beginning created. So we learn God was in the beginning and He alone created the heavens and the earth.
Gen 1:2 Says "The earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters".
I am not an astronomer but I know the earth, sun moon and most of the planets are round. The Genesis account however never gives us a shape we are just told there was earth, darkness was on the face of the deep and the Spirit of God was hovering on the face of the waters.
I also believe that creation is a work done by God who is triune. Mysterious though it may seem it must be stated that God works as one unite but in 3 persons. Father, Son (the Word), & Spirit.
Elohim is a plural word hence "Let Us make man in our Image" Also see (Gen 3:22; 11:7; Isa 6:8)
Hence we read in Gen 1:26 says "Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
So man was made in the image of God. We know later that that image was to become defective, when Adam sinned, which is one reason why we needed God to redeem us. But Salvation is not the point we are dealing with here. No. What we are dealing with is the evidence of God creating all things.
John 1:1 says "IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it".
Isaiah 45:12 says “Thus saith the LORD, Thy redeemer, and He that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself” (Isaiah 44:24); “I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded”.
These are clear statements that God is the creator.

Death Through Sin
The reason why the creation events are crucial is that in the midst of a detail of God's creation we also discover where death began. Let the word of God explain.
Gen 2:15-17 says "Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat;“but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Question is Adam running around on the earth today? No. Why not? because he died. That is what God said would happen. More than just a physical death there was spiritual separation.
We read in Rom 5:12 "Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned"
Here we see that through Adam's sin all mankind inherits sin. Proving that that all mankind comes from one man and that death did not come before Adam sinned. Christians must understand therefore the importance of a literal six day creation, not an evolutionary idea will millions of years and many things dying.
God's solution to man's sin
Reading Rom 5:17 "For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. 18 Therefore, as through one man’s offense [judgment] came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act [the free gift came] to all men, resulting in justification of life.
19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous."
1Cor 15:21 For since by man [came] death, by Man also [came] the resurrection of the dead.
1Cor 15:45 And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam [became] a life-giving spirit.
So we see the one offense of the first man Adam leading to the death of all, but God's solution is found only in the last Adam (Christ) being the life giver. When He died on the cross paying the penalty for sin which is death with His life. Then rising again having conquered sin and death. (Romans 6:9,1Cor 15:54-56)
When a person puts their faith in Christ they are admitting they are sinners and Christ has paid the dept of sin for them. This means they are saved, born again, are new creation and become children of God and can call God their Father.
Just a mention here to say that there no other life on other planets as all life was made on this earth by God and it is this earth that man was made and on this earth man sinned and it is this earth that God sent His son to redeem that which was lost. This was God's plan before the world existed which is why we read in
Rev 13:8 "All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world".

Life CAN NOT come from NON life FACT.
It is a fact that for anything to change or mutate even minutely it has to have new information give to it in order for that change to take place. Richard Dawkins tries to provide examples for where this necessary information comes from. Please note he was unable to answer the question so he gave another hypothesis.

How old is the earth?
The information below is how we have been taught to think when it come to how old the earth is. It says
"Sedimentary rocks are formed particle by particle and bed by bed, and the layers are piled one on top of the other. Thus, in any sequence of layered rocks, a given bed must be older than any bed on top of it. This Law of Superposition is fundamental to the interpretation of Earth history, because at any one location it indicates the relative ages of rock layers and the fossils in them".
Is this true? Have a look at this picture. If we are to be a serious scientist then you have to ask the question about the "Law of Superposition" if each layer of rock represents time then how can a fossilized tree fit into the equation. It would mean the lower part of the tree was 450 thousand years old and the top end would be ?. I don,t think so. See link for more info.
As Christians we must take seriously that God's word is the means through which God Created all things.
Interesting to consider also that faith comes by hearing God's word (Rom 10:17) Yes God not only creates things from nothing but gives life to those who are spiritually dead and separated from Him as a result of sin.
Rom 4:17 says (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations” (speaking of Abraham) in the presence of Him whom he believed–God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;.
So we take a literal 6 day God creation stand.
Exodus 20: 8-11 says “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
So God set in his creation a 7 day week. If we start to mess about with the literal meanings of God's word we are playing with fire.
What God was also teaching us about rest is that His true rest can only be found when a person puts their faith in Jesus Christ See Hebrews 4 and verse 10. Here is the Gospel man can not save himself by his works but by and through the finished work God has done through Jesus.

The lie of evolution
Think about it billions of years ago matter collides in space and a huge explosion takes place. Then through thousands of random changes over billions of years man comes into being. So what can we deduct from this? That man came from dust particles.
Are you kidding?
That's not only impossible, it's a lie, and that lie has been passed on through our educational systems for too long.
Let's correct the problem right there.
God's word tells us "In the beginning God created, the heaven and the earth."
There was not collision out there in space billions of years ago because there was no matter to explode. When nothing collides with nothing any scientist will tell you the result is nothing. Yet we are told a big bang happened.
OK lets do an imaginary experiment.
Put a small explosive device with a 5 minute fuse under a pile of dust. Now wait. BANG!!!. There goes the dust. Now wait for 18 Billion years and see if a house has been constructed at the site of the explosion. That did not work did it?
Shall we try another experiment?
Take nothing in your left hand and nothing in your right hand, now throw the nothings into the air and wait for the BANG. Didn't it work? Well may be you need more nothing in each hand. Sorry if what I am saying sound like the ramblings of a crazy man.
Well this is what evolutionist like Richard Dawkins would have us believe. Total nonsense. Mr Dawkins has made thousands from gullible people and he ought to be ashamed.
Evolution is a religion
In the UK we are always being told by our government that to have faith schools would cause problems and that we have to be inclusive of all faiths. Yet evolution is a faith and it's been taught year after year in our schools and no one says a dicky bird about it.
Some readers will be questioning whether it is a faith. But anyone who believes something and can articulate what they believe and hold to it as truth and fact are actually believing it by faith, and therefore evolution is a religion. It's root is the worship of self. How come? Because no one has to be accountable to any body but themselves.
If we are taught that we came from dust particles (which is what evolutionists believe) which eventually led to monkeys and then onto man, then who are we accountable to? some will say mans laws, well how does man know right from wrong? after all we can make our own rules up cant we?
However if God created everything then He is Lord of all, and He tells us what is right and wrong doesn't He? and therefore we are accountable to Him.
Now the question is which God is the right one? Well the word of God tells us the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the one true and living God. He is the Lord who created all thing, and sustains all things by the power of His word. He is the only God who is by nature Just and Love, faithful and true. He sent His son Jesus into the world to save sinners.
Dear reader you have to make a choice, either nothing created everything or God did.

Genealogy and the age of the earth.
The bible teaches us that all of mankind came from one man Adam. (Gen 1; 2:7; 2:21-24, Acts 17:26)
We must also realise that sin and the consequences of that sin also came from that one man. The good news is that God became man in order to provide a sacrifice for sin that was accepted by God. (Rom 5:12-18 , 1 Cor 15:45-46)
From God's word then we learn that man was created by God and that there is no missing link between ape and man. So animals come from animals and man comes from man. Gen 1:24
So our genealogy is God made and therfore man has a beginning. But when was that, well we know that God made man on the 6th day but how long ago. By reading through the verses of Genesis 5 we can read who begot who and when. Begot means to be born of someone. We will also see how long someone lived before they begot a child. So by adding these dates up it's possible to work out the approximate age of the earth.
