The Sabbath rest and the first day of the week.

 The Sabbath
After God created the heavens and the earth we are told that He rested. This was the seventh day.
God does not make a command at this point He just rests from His work.

So how do we enter God's rest?
Why would we want to?

The evidence all around us is of a fallen world, both creation and mankind are corrupted and in a fallen state.
This happend because of Adams sin. The account of this is in Genesis 3.
The consequence of his sin meant all mankind would be sinful and die. Heb 9:27 say that after death comes judgement. Furthermore for those who have not believed in Jesus Christ are left in there sin and will face God's wrath and the Lake of fire forever.

So Jesus says in Matt 11:28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Man can not save themselves thou many think they can. So th e rest that Christ is talking about has nothing to do with our works. This is so man has nothing to boast about. Eph 2:8-9.
Jesus say He who believes in Him will not be left in their sin but will have eternal life with The Father.

Now do you understand what this rest is?

There are many who think as Christians (those who believe in Jesus and walk in His ways) they have to keep the Sabbath day. But the Sabbath day was part of the laws given to the Jews. See Exodus 31:12-16.
James 2:10 says "For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all."

You will never do it. 613 in total and if you break one you have failed if you fail to keep sabbath you get killed. Jesus is the only rest you can find so believe in Him alone and be justified and made righteous. Live your life through His Spirit in you, living a holy life (sanctified life) This is liberty it is life.
